netrootsNetroots is a term describing populist campaigns and movements sparked, promoted and conducted over the Internet. Such movements are typically generated from within the blogosphere , the democratic and user-created media segment composed of bloggers. The term netroots is derived from grassroots , itself a word used to describe a political or social movement stemming from the efforts of ordinary people rather than established leaders.
