Personal Search Syndication

Personal Search Syndication (PSS) is a free technology offered by Septet Systems that allows Web site and blog owners to create, maintain and modify specialized search engine s relevant to topics of their choice. A PSS engine can be embedded in a personal, corporate or academic Web page.

A search engine built using PSS enables visitors to a Web site or blog to enter queries in the context of the site, thereby obtaining focused search results. For example, if you maintain a blog about the care and feeding of Arctic sled dogs, you can embed a PSS engine about this topic within the page containing the blog. Then all search queries by visitors will be take place in the context of Arctic sled dogs.

All PSS engines are updated regularly to include new topic-specific documents that appear on the Web. Web site and blog owners can refine their PSS engines to widen or narrow the scope of documents covered.
