full-text search fileAn FTS file (full-text search file) is created the first time you select the Find tab from a Help window in Windows 95 or later systems. An FTS file contains an index resulting from a full-text search of the Windows help system files. An FTS file can be deleted at any time. The next time you use Find, a new FTS file is created.
