The amount of data a SCSI bus handles per second is sometimes given as megatransfers/second or MT/sec. The 8-bit SCSI-1 bus has a data speed of one MT/sec (one million bytes per second) and the 16-bit SCSI-2 bus has a data speed of two MT/sec (two million bytes per second).
