Roomba

Roomba is the name of a robotic vacuum produced by iRobot Corporation of Burlington, Mass., a company that also created the CoWorker telepresence robot and the PakBot device for the military. Intended to be an affordable device for the home, Roomba was developed by a team from MIT's Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) Lab. It features an onboard NiMH rechargeable battery , a removable filter, and a navigation system that allows it to turn corners, work its way around obstacles, and avoid falling down stairs. The disk-shaped robot, approximately a foot in diameter and three inches tall, is able to maneuver under objects such as beds. The Roomba was designed to free its user for other activities while it cleans floors. Early reviewers had a few reservations, but agreed that basically Roomba could indeed clean your floors.
