The business process professional occupies a career field brought on by the growing popularity and adoption of BPM activities such as business process discovery and business process modeling. Working at the intersection of business and IT, business process professionals can be originally trained in either business or IT. To be effective, they must be skilled in process architecture, process analysis, change management and other BPM-related fields. Research indicates that many recruiters seek candidates with expertise in Business Process Model & Notation (BPMN) and Six Sigma.
