digitizer software

Digitizer software is the collection of programs, processes and information used to transform and store images into a format compatible for computer processing. Analog sources such as images, documents, areas and length are converted into digital representations, which can then be transferred between different computer programs and applications like Microsoft Excel or Microcal Origin.

The most common tool used with Digitizer software is a digitizer tablet. Some leading digitizer software vendors includes ProEst, GTCO Calcomp, Ziatek, and Sage.
