Wi-Fi DirectWi-Fi Direct is a peer-to-peer specification that will enhance Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi Alliance's trademarked certification for wireless devices that use the IEEE 802.11 family of standards for wireless local area network (WLAN) operation. Devices certified for the Wi-Fi Direct will be able to talk directly to one another without having to join a network. The Wi-Fi Alliance expects to begin certification for Wi-Fi Direct in 2010. Products that receive the certification will be designated "Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Wi-Fi Direct."
