GHO File Format
Symantec ghost image file

GHO is a file extension for a Symantec ghost image file format used by earlier versions of Symantec’s Norton Ghost. A GHO file is a clone (copy) of the entire contents of a hard disk to another computer's hard disk or to storage media, including the disk header information that is lost in a standard copy and paste. In the process, Ghost automatically formats and partitions the target disk. Ghost is especially useful where one system is to be replicated on a number of computers or when someone wants to back up everything on their personal computer.
