LDIF File Format
Structured text file used for sharing information between E-Mail clients
LDIF, or Lightweight Directory Interchange Format, is a file extension for a structured text file used for sharing information between email clients and a part of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). LDAP allows applications to query and modify directory services running over TCP/IP. LDIF files contain one or more single spaced entries, each with an optional entry ID, a required unique name, one or more object classes. An LDIF file may have multiple attribute definitions.
