CPI is a file extension for code page information file format used by Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS).

CPI files store keyboard mapping and full screen font settings for MS-DOS and Windows. A CPI file contains embedded representations of the character glyphs that represent standard fonts and may be modified to suit different languages.

If a CPI file is not used in DOS and windows 3.x, 9x, ME the system defaults to using the hardware fonts stored in the video card’s BIOS.
