Bentley Systems drawing file
DGN is a file extension for a Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawing file format used by Bentley Systems MicroStation. DGN files are generally used for architectural and engineering designs.
Autodesk and Bentley designs have exchanged software libraries in an agreement to make DGN and CAD files more compatible with each other’s programs.
In addition to Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley View and Bentley Systems MicroStation, programs that can open DGN files include Corel PaintShop Photo Pro and IMSI TurboCAD Deluxe versions.
DGN is short for “design.”
