Screensaver file (DCC)

DSS is a file extension for a screensaver file format used by Microsoft Windows to bring up a moving image after a set idle time on the computer.

Screensavers were originally created to prevent burn-in on monitors. Now that burn in is not as much of a problem on computer monitors due to technology used, screensavers are more for novelty and amusement.
