Extension file (Norton Commander)

EXT is a file extension for an extension file used with Norton Commander. EXT stands for EXTension.

Norton Commander is a DOS and Windows based file manager. EXT files were used to define which applications should open which files, based upon their file extension. EXT files are simple text files and can be opened and edited by most text editors.

The EXT file extension is also associated with ASCII binary transfer files (WS_FTP PRO) (IPSWITCH Software).
