GB is a file extension for a read-only memory (ROM) file extracted from a Nintendo Game Boy cartridge. GB stands for Game Boy. 

GB files contain a copy of a Game Boy game, which can be used with a Game Boy emulator. GB files allow the play of Game Boy games on other operating systems, including Windows. GB files are created with a flash cart and software proprietary to the flash cart used.
