LRC File Format

Lyrics file used by music game emulators

LRC is a file extension for a lyrics file format used by music, game emulators and media players. LRC files contain both the text for lyrics and timing tags to synchronize lyrics with a music file.

LRC files come in both a simple and enhanced format. The enhanced format supports a time tag per line, to even enabling progressive coloring of the lyrics in real time due to time tag support down to each syllable.

I was cleaning my computer out of old files and such and I ran into a LRC file, was wondering what it was. Still unclear as to why I have it. Also can't open it.
