Compressed archive (LH ARC)

LZH is a file extension for a compressed archive file format using Lempel-Ziv and Haruyasu (Yoshizaki) compression algorithm. The LZA file is named after its inventors.
LZH came from work on LZ77 compression with additional dynamic compression provided with Huffman coding. The LZH file format had its roots on the Amiga. LZH files are more common in Japan than elsewhere. Can also go by an LHA extension.
