Image file (Nero)

NRG is a file extension for a disk image file format used by Nero. As a disk image, an NRG file contains an exact duplicate of the data stored on a disk. NRG typically stands for "energy."
Disk images are often used in disk backup programs as they do not lose the disk header information lost in a standard copy and paste. As such, they can be used to restore a disk’s information exactly as it had been.
If you come across an NRG file and do not have Nero it can be converted to the more common ISO format using NRG2ISO.
