Registry data file for Windows
![]()
REG is a file extension for a registry data file format used in Microsoft Windows.
The registry is a single store of information as to what hardware is attached, what system options have been selected, how computer memory is set up, and what application programs are installed.
REG files are created when branches or the entire registry is saved. REG files can be double clicked to add their contained settings to Windows.
