SQL file format icon

SQL is a file extension for a Structured Query Language file format written in ASCII. SQL files are used by database products.

A SQL file typically contains queries to modify the structure of a relational database -- to insert, delete, update or extract data.

SQL files are compatible with many database programs.

I looked up the definition for what an SQL file was after several failures to install a Drupal tutorial in a database on a host site. I tried several times & always got a message that my imports were successful but the database indicated it contained no tables as well as zero data. Turns out the creator of the tutorial didn't include an SQL file with the info provided.
