TXF File Format

Tax exchange format (Quicken and others)

TXF stands for Tax Exchange Format. Files of that type contain tax-related information that can be exported from and imported to financial software, such as Intuit Quicken and Microsoft Money. It is an accepted standard for saving tax data because it saves the information in ASCII, allowing it to be easily fed into software.

The TXF extension has also been used for compressed archive files, similar to the TAR format, which combines several files into one that can be compressed if necessary.
