Stencil file (Microsoft Visio)

VSS file format icon

The VSS file extension is primarily associated with a raster graphics stencil file for Microsoft Visio. VSS stands for ViSio Stencil.

Visio is office software used to create  flowcharts and other diagrams. The program includes a collection of pre-defined shapes and pre-drawn objects that can be included in a VSD (Visio drawing) file.

Some VSS files are included with Visio; the user may also create them. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint can import VSS files.
