Corel Xara drawing
The XAR extension is commonly used with files created by Xara Xtreme, a 2D vector graphics editor developed by the British company Xara, which is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German firm MAGIX AG. Xara Xtreme was formerly Xara X, and, before that, CorelXARA, when the Xara Studio software was licensed to Corel in 1995. The XAR file extension is also compatible with Xara Xtreme Pro.
The XAR file extension is also used by Microsoft Excel for an auto-save file.
