Certificate of Competency

In defense contracting, a Certificate of Competency states that the holder is authorized to receive and perform on a specific government contract . The Small Business Administration ( SBA ) issues certificates of this kind to individuals it finds to be responsible in terms of capability, competency, capacity, credit, integrity, perseverance and tenacity.
