Data Security Council of India (DSCI)
What is Data Security Council of India (DSCI)?
The Data Security Council of India (DSCI) is a not-for-profit organization created to promote the country as a secure destination for information technology (IT) outsourcing. DSCI was founded by NASSCOM, an Indian IT-BPO (business process outsourcing) consortium.
Because Indian business process outsourcing and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) companies deal with organizations from around the world, they have to be aware of, and compliant with, regulatory standards specific to each country. DSCI created a framework of best practices for IT business process outsourcing (BPO) service providers, banking and financial services, manufacturing, e-governance, telecom, public sector units (PSU) and e-commerce companies. The DSCI framework is based on established security standards such as ISO 27001 and PCI DSS.
