simplicity

In information technology, simplicity is a quality that is frequently sought by both users and technologists, although, as users frequently attest, it is not always found. In programming, an elegant solution is sometimes one that addresses a need with surprising simplicity and efficiency. In the creation of the user interface to information technology, simplicity is usually one of several important objectives.

The desirability of simplicity is sometimes expressed as the KISS Principle.
