B1 File Format

Open source backup and archive file format

B1 is a file extension for an open source backup and archive file format.

The B1 file extension is the native file format of B1 Archive Manager. The B1 file compression utility provides a high compression ratio for compressed archives. B1 was developed from the LZMA format.  Tools and libraries are also available for working with B1 archives.

B1 archive is under development and encryption functionality will be available in the next versions. The next iteration will allow users to encrypt data with a 256 bit AES encryption algorithm.

B1 files open with B1 Archive Manager.
