This glossary contains terms related to the SAP R/3 system and SAP cloud services. It also contains terms related to SAP software for finance and asset management, cost accounting, production and operations management, as well as business software for vertical industries that require applications to manage such things as supply chain, manufacturing workflows and personnel.

ABA - SAP

  • ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) - ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) is the primary programming language supported on the SAP NetWeaver ABAP application server platform and applications that run on it, such as SAP ERP (formerly R/3), S/4HANA and CRM.
  • ABAP Objects - In the R/3 product from the German software company, SAP, ABAP Objects is a programming language and part of the ABAP Workbench that allows developers to create and run applications that contain program objects.
  • ABAP Workbench - ABAP Workbench is a set of programs for developing enterprise resource management (ERM) applications that run in the R/3 subsystem from SAP.
  • AribaPay - AribaPay is a system for electronic payments for goods and services on the SAP Ariba Network, a global business trading community.
  • ASAP (AcceleratedSAP) - ASAP (AcceleratedSAP) is a step-by-step methodology for speeding up the implementation of an SAP R/3 system.

  • R/3 - R/3 is the comprehensive set of integrated business applications from SAP, the German company that states it is the market and technology leader in business application software.
  • R/3 Repository - In the R/3 system from SAP, the R/3 Repository is the central place where development components in the ABAP Workbench are stored.
  • SAP - SAP SE is a multinational software corporation that is currently the market leader in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) field.
  • SAP Afaria - Afaria is a mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) software platform.
  • SAP Analytics Cloud - SAP Analytics Cloud (or SAP Cloud for Analytics) is a software as a service (SaaS) business intelligence (BI) platform designed by SAP.
  • SAP Anywhere - SAP Anywhere is a mobile-first, cloud-first, front-office platform aimed at very small businesses that combines sales, inventory management, order processing, commerce, marketing programs, mobile point of sale, customer support and engagement functions in one application.
